Over the Shoulder, Mirror
Set up: Stand in front of a full-length mirror. This look plays your back and your reflected front at once, so both "sides" of the pose show. A ring light placed just behind your phone gives clean, even, skin-smoothing light — position it so its reflection doesn't glare straight back into the lens (angle the mirror or the light a few degrees off-axis).
Wardrobe: A fitted bodysuit — a long-sleeve lace one covers the arms while still feeling sultry. The high-cut leg of a bodysuit visually lengthens the legs, and the fitted line flatters from behind.
Camera: Phone on tripod between you and the mirror, angled so it captures your back and your reflection but stays hidden behind your body or off to the side. Portrait orientation, self-timer or remote. Ring light on; tap to focus on your reflected face, adjust exposure so skin stays soft. Do a couple of test frames to kill any lens glare in the mirror.
Pose: Face the mirror, weight on one leg, opposite hip cocked out for shape. Add a soft arch to your lower back. Lift one hand to sweep your hair off the back of your neck — that lengthens the line and softens the shoulders — rest the other on your hip. Turn your chin back over your shoulder and give the camera a soft, direct look.
Body-type adjustments:
- Slim/petite: the cocked hip and arched back build curve; the high-cut leg stretches the legs even longer.
- Curvy/plus-size: turn the hips a little more to the side for an hourglass line in the reflection; a long-sleeve bodysuit keeps arms covered and elegant.
- Anyone softening shoulders: the raised-arm, hair-sweep move rounds and softens the shoulder line beautifully.
Nervous-day note: the hardest part here is technical, not personal — once the mirror and light are set, the pose is simple. If eye contact feels like a lot, look at your own reflection instead of the lens; it reads just as warm.
