Candlelit Soak
Set up: Run a warm bath and cluster several candles along the tub's edge and around the room. Turn the overhead light OFF — candlelight is the whole mood. A handful of flower petals on the water is a lovely optional touch. Safety first: keep the phone and tripod on dry ground well away from the water, and keep candles away from anything that can catch.
Wardrobe: A soft linen or cotton sheet wrapped around your body — it clings a little once damp, which looks beautiful, while keeping you fully covered. No lingerie needed at all; the sheet is the wardrobe.
Camera: Phone on tripod on dry footing, above and to one side of the tub angled down, portrait orientation. Self-timer or remote. Candlelight is dim, so: tap to focus on the lit part of your body, nudge exposure up slightly, and hold as still as you can (dim light means slower capture and a little motion blur). Take plenty of frames — a few will be beautifully sharp.
Pose: Recline against the sloped end of the tub and let your head rest back against the edge, then turn your face to the camera with a soft, easy smile — think "caught mid-soak and glad about it." Sweep damp hair over the rim. Rest one arm along the tub's edge, hold the sheet lightly at your collarbone with the other hand, and let one knee rise softly above the water.
Body-type adjustments:
- Mid-size/slim: let the sheet drape loosely and pool in the water for soft, romantic shape.
- Curvy/plus-size: draw the knees up a little more and let the sheet follow your curves — the candlelight sculpts them gorgeously.
- Anyone hiding arms: rest them along the tub rim or in the water where the shadow and sheet keep them soft and out of the light.
Nervous-day note: body wrapped, lights low, and the softest light there is — candlelight flatters absolutely everyone. If meeting the lens feels like a lot, take a few frames with your eyes closed and a smile first; the relaxed eyes-open one usually follows on its own.
