Morning Light, His Shirt

Set up: Strip the duvet back to rumpled white sheets — imperfect is the look. Bed positioned so a window is to one side; late morning on an overcast day, or sheer white curtains closed to soften direct sun.

Wardrobe: Any oversized white button-down (a partner's shirt is perfect). Collar open, sleeves pushed or rolled loosely. The shirt's drape skims past the midsection — this look conceals the tummy naturally, no posing effort needed.

Camera: Phone on tripod at mattress height, 2–3 m back, portrait orientation. Self-timer 10s or a Bluetooth remote. Phone: portrait mode ON if available; tap the window-lit side of your body to set exposure, then drag exposure down slightly so highlights stay soft.

Pose: Kneel upright in the middle of the bed, then sit back a couple of centimeters onto your heels — upright-but-relaxed reads best. Turn your body three-quarters toward the window, drop your chin, and let your hair fall to screen your face. Hands gather the shirt hem at your hips. Take a breath and exhale as the timer fires — relaxed shoulders make the shot.

Body-type adjustments:

  • Curvy/plus-size: sit back a little less (stay taller through the hips) and pull a knee slightly forward — lengthens the line of the thigh.
  • Slim/petite: gather more shirt fabric at the waist to create shape.
  • Anyone hiding arms: let the sleeve fabric bunch at the elbows — covered and natural.

Nervous-day note: face-hidden looks like this one are a perfect first shot of a session — you'll relax the moment you see how good it looks.
