Study in Grey
Set up: Sit or kneel near a window with soft, low, side-raking daylight; the softer the light, the smoother the skin reads.
Wardrobe: A camisole set — the shot lives on the single fine strap on the shoulder. Worded as a camisole, it stays in the partial tier; only the shoulder is in frame.
Camera: Phone on a tripod close in, at shoulder height, portrait, framed so the face lifts just out of the top. Self-timer or a remote; expose for the skin so highlights stay soft. This look also renders beautifully converted to black-and- white.
Pose: Turn the shoulder gently toward the light, let one strap fall a little, drift a few strands of hair across the skin, and lengthen the neck away. With your face out of frame and no eye contact to hold, this is one of the calmest, most private frames in a set — an easy way to include something intimate on a shy day.
