Satin & Petals

Set up: Dress the bed in red or burgundy satin sheets — an inexpensive satin sheet set is the whole trick, because the sheen is what the raking light loves. Scatter a handful of loose petals (real or silk). One warm lamp low and off to one side; room lights otherwise down.

Wardrobe: A red lace or satin camisole-and-shorts set — a classic red lingerie set from any drugstore or discount store is exactly right. (Prefer sleepwear styling? A red satin cami and matching shorts reads the same.)

Camera: Phone on a tripod at mattress height, landscape (4:3), shooting along the length of the body from the side — never straight down it. Self-timer or remote; expose for the lamp-lit side so the satin sheen and your skin tone read warm, not blown out.

Pose: Lie back across the satin, bend one knee up, rest the near hand on your stomach (it softens the middle and gives the hand a job), and reach the far hand into your hair. Angle the hips slightly toward the camera, lift the chin, and let a slow smile land on the exhale. Comfort: you're covered by a real set here — the petals and the satin do the romance, you just get to lie back. Fuller frame: this side-angled recline is a genuine curve hero — let the bent knee lift the hip line and keep the supporting arm just off the ribs so nothing compresses.
