Pearls & Poise

Set up: A clean bare wall, a single warm lamp set low and off to one side for glossy, sculpting light — a plain bedside lamp with a warm bulb is perfect.

Wardrobe: A satin slip and a simple strand of pearls (or any fine necklace). Fully covered — the elegance is the pose and the light.

Camera: Phone on a tripod at hip height, portrait, far enough back to keep the full figure to the heel. Self-timer or a remote; expose for the lamp-lit side so the satin sheen reads.

Pose: Stand near the wall, drop your weight into the back hip so one long line runs shoulder-to-heel, rest a hand at the pearls, lift the chin, and hold a composed, level gaze. The trick is the single line — never stand square and flat-footed. Give the front leg a little cross for length. Take a few frames; the confident stillness is what you're after.
